Roadways are some of the most important assets of a country and a traffic control plan drawing is what keeps it all running smoothly. It ensures the continual growth of the country’s economy through commerce. Trade always began with the roadways. In ancient civilizations, the silk route was an important trade route which connected China with India for trade, especially silk. Such similar roadways were found in other civilizations too. Traffic was the issue that needed control in these roads. As more vehicles started using the roadways, controlling them required new methods of traffic control a plan was necessary.
Traffic control plans ensures safety and smooth flow of the vehicles using these roadways. Traffic designs are very important for a cities vehicular transportation. They ensure smooth operation in transportation. Various methods are implemented in a traffic plan, such as computerized and hands on designing. Using real time simulations designs are tested and the efficiency is measured. The efficiency is calculated on the error rate produced and the delay in correcting them. After all it is human lives that are being controlled here and error is something that must be nullified. With much more predictive and future proof traffic design people can safely commute through the roads with complete trust that the traffic control plan requirements they rely upon will not fail them.
Earlier, cars were fewer in numbers and the speeds they traversed in were modest, this made controlling them easier and coming up with a working plan much easier. When the cars were first introduced to general public a man used to walk with a red flag in front of the car to warn others to move out of the way. This was very impractical and someone had to come with a pragmatic solution. The tri-colored traffic light was installed and so controlling the traffic was not the paramount concern of the authorities. With increase in the speeds at which cars could travel, this led to development of lane management and automated traffic light control.
Traffic of the past was cars on wheels, traffic of the future could be cars that fly which will be a whole new ball game for the future traffic control planning. The traffic design of such future cars must be as practical as the cars themselves. Scientists and analysts are taking flight traffic control programs and running the simulations of a car in the air. Surprisingly they are proving to be efficient in controlling the traffic in the sky. The risk involved is much higher than the ones they encounter on land and so tests are continued to ensure zero chance of failure.
Traffic control plans first began with people sketching the roads and assigning traffic cops to operated the traffic. This was efficient at first as the number of cars was minimal and the humans in the place were intuitive and could make their own decisions when circumstances were unnatural. However with increase in the population of cars on the road the traffic cops were too slow and faster systems needed to be installed. Microchips were implemented to solve this problem and they are much more efficient compared to the human counter part. They never get exhausted of repeating the same job over and over while the efficiency is still maintained at the highest. Thus the only thing we need to get right are good solid traffic control plans.
